Cataract students collect 560 items during food drive

The Cataract School children collected food from Feb. 17-24 to benefit the Cataract CARES weekend backpack program and Sparta food pantry. The students did an awesome job with the final tally at 560 items.

Maplewood students participate in Jump Rope for Heart

Students at Maplewood Elementary raised $4,547.62 for Jump Rope for Heart. The money raised goes to the American Heart Association to help fund lifesaving research in heart and blood vessel diseases. Students celebrated their hard work by participating in different heart happy activities.

Montessori Education Night planned for Feb. 23

Montessori Education Night will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Lakeview Montessori School, 711 Pine St., Sparta. The informational meeting will discuss and share information on how Montessori works, the Montessori philosophy, transitions into the “traditional’ classroom, and allow time for questions.
