What Constitutes a Spartan Lunch

What food items do I need to take to make a Spartan Lunch?

(The cost of a full paid Spartan Lunch is $2.95 at the High School, $2.85 at Meadowview and $2.65 for PreK through third grade, $.40 cents for students who qualify for reduced cost meals and students who qualify for free meals eat for free.)

Students must be offered a lunch that contains:

  • Food prepared from the 5 meal components
  • Serving sizes that are appropriate for the age/group level

The 5 meal components are:

  • Meat or Meat Alternate Offering
  • Vegetable Offering
  • Fruit Offering
  • Bread/Grain Offering
  • Milk Offering


Students must take a fruit or a vegetable to qualify for a Spartan Lunch.

Notice: Students who do not take 3 of the 5 meal components at the High School will be charged ala carte pricing. Students in grades Kindergarten thru 8th grade must take 3 of the 5 meal components.
