Five students from Meadowview Middle and Innovations STEM Academy will represent the Sparta Area School District at state level WSMA Solo and Ensemble.

Izak Anderson (piano duet), Jaelyn Arndt (soprano solo), Ethan Anderson (piano solo and piano duet), Braeden Goad (tenor solo) and Alexander Bartles (tenor solo) performed a Class A event and earned a *1 score at the WSMA Regional Competition. More than 80 middle level students participated in about 70 events at the Regional Solo and Ensemble Feb. 20 in Black River Falls.

“We are proud of all of our students who participated in Solo and Ensemble,” said Kyle Sonnemann, choral music, general music and theater instructor at Meadowview Middle. “Every musician that attends puts in four to eight weeks or more of work and practice in and out of the classroom.”

The state level WSMA Solo and Ensemble will be May 7 at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
