Sparta Area School District

The Sparta Area School District is proud to partner with the Sparta Police Department in promoting school safety. tip411 allows anyone with a safety concern to text an anonymous message which can be responded to in real time by authorized personnel.

Maplewood Elementary School has again been selected by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a Wisconsin "School of Promise". This is the second time the school has recieved this award, and the fourth time for a school in the Sparta Area School District. Maplewood School representatives were honored in Madison on October 20, 2009.

The Sparta Area School District is part of a consortium of 9 area school districts, Western Technical College, UW-Stout and local business that was awarded a grant to improve math and science instruction. Selected teachers from each district will particpate in a three year program of professional development, including annual 2 week summer seminars held on the campus of Western Tech.
