ANNOUNCEMENTS

   

     The Sparta Area School District is part of a consortium of 9 area school districts, Western Technical College, UW-Stout and local business that was awarded a grant to improve math and science instruction.  Selected teachers from each district will particpate in a three year program of professional development, including annual 2 week summer seminars held on the campus of Western Tech.  More information can be found at the following links: WesternTC  UW-Stout  LCTribune

     Maplewood Elementary School has again been selected by the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction as a Wisconsin "School of Promise".  This is the second time the school has recieved this award, and the fourth time for a school in the Sparta Area School District.  Maplewood School representatives will be honored in Madison on October 20, 2009.
