Meet the Athletic Trainer
My name is Shawn Bloyer. I consider it a privilege to be the athletic trainer for Sparta Area School District. The quote you see below is one that has guided me during my career. So, first and foremost, I love being an athletic trainer because on a daily basis, I get to help people achieve their goals.
A little about me, professionally, I did not know athletic training was a career until I took a Kinesiology class at the University of Minnesota. From that moment on, I was hooked. I transferred to Winona State to finish up my bachelor’s degree in athletic training. I then completed my master’s degree in sport administration from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. Collegiately, I have worked at Saint Mary’s University in Winona and at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. I have previously worked at Mishicot, Hillsboro, and Wonewoc-Center high schools.
A little about me personally, I am a sports fan, so I consider myself fortunate to have a career where I get to watch sports. When I am not watching sports, I enjoy spending time with my daughters/family, going to the gym, and cooking.
Finally, I have an open-door policy. If my door is ever closed please do not hesitate to knock.
