NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that an election will be held in the Sparta Area School District on Tuesday, April 7, 2026. The following offices are to be elected to succeed the present incumbents listed and the term of office is three (3) years with an expiration date of April 2029.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that a Campaign Registration Statement and a Declaration of Candidacy, must be filed no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 2026, in the office of the school district clerk located at the Maplewood Administrative and Educational Center, 900 E Montgomery St, Sparta, Wisconsin. Normal business hours are 7:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. M-F, and specifically 7:15 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on January 6, 2026. Please be advised the Maplewood Administrative and Educational Center will be closed on December 24, December 25, December 26, 2025, and January 1, 2026.

NOTICE IS FURTHER GIVEN, that if a primary is necessary, the primary will be held on Tuesday, February 17, 2026.

Candidate packets and a description of the school district boundaries can be obtained from the Maplewood Administrative and Educational Center during normal business hours.

Acceptable Photo ID will be required to vote at this election. If you do not have a photo ID, you may obtain a free ID for voting from the Division of Motor Vehicles.

Interested Board of Education Member Workshop

Interested in becoming a Board of Education member? Attend our workshop to learn more!

Those interested in better understanding the role of a Board of Education member are welcome to attend a workshop that is focused on what it means to be a Board of Education member. The workshop will be held on December 15, at 5:15 p.m. in the Meadowview cafetorium; this is prior to the full Board of Education meeting at 6:00 at Meadowview. The presentation will include information about our District, roles and responsibilities of a Board member, the structure of Board meetings, chain of command, policy governance, and other important information; nomination papers will also be available. Current Board members may be in attendance to share their perspective on the process of being an elected official.
