Community Survey on Educational Facilities Needs Coming Soon

District Residents Asked to Provide Feedback on Potential Projects

The Sparta Area School District is reaching out to all District residents in the next few weeks to gather feedback to guide the District’s planning process. The Sparta Area School District remains committed to providing the best educational experience for our students. Your input is invaluable in shaping our future endeavors, and we invite you to take part in a significant initiative.

SASD needs to retain our high-quality staff and continually improve services for students. Our facilities also need to be safe, secure, and support learning. This has become more difficult because of the lack of predictable, sustainable funding from the state. As valued members of the Sparta community, your perspectives are vital in helping us make informed decisions that will positively impact the education and well-being of our students. We encourage you to participate and share your insights on topics such as curriculum, extracurricular activities, facilities, and community engagement. Your feedback will play a crucial role in guiding our planning process, ensuring that our initiatives align with the needs and expectations of our community.

“The District is excited to get valuable feedback from the community in regard to possible next steps on moving our District forward together”, said Superintendent, Mr. Russ.

The District has upcoming Soup with the Sup Community Engagement meetings where citizens can ask questions and learn more about the survey.  These meetings will be held on October 24 and 26 at 6 p.m. in the Sparta High School, 506 N. Black River St. Sparta.

The District recognizes that a finalized plan must reflect the priorities of taxpayers. Therefore, the district is urging all residents to participate in this important district-wide effort as they prepare to make important decisions about potential facilities projects.

To assist with data gathering efforts, the District is working with School Perceptions LLC, an independent Wisconsin firm with expertise in conducting school district surveys. All survey data is returned to School Perceptions and all information will remain anonymous. The information gathered will be used solely for the purpose of enhancing our educational programs and services. All District residents will receive a paper survey in the mail and can take the survey in one of two ways. The survey has a website listed that allows a respondent to log on and complete the survey, or respondents can complete the paper survey and mail it back to School Perceptions in the envelope provided. The opportunity to take the survey will close on November 6, 2023.

“No decisions have been made about our next steps as a District. This information will lead future discussions with the Board of Education and community as we look to the future together,” Mr. Russ shared.

Survey results are planning to be presented at the November 27 School Board meeting and will also be available on the district website at www.spartan.org.
